The Referral Process

How to refer a patient

The process is kept deliberately simple. There is no formal referral form, a call, WhatsApp message, or brief letter is sufficient to initiate a consultation.

1

Contact Dr. Satish directly

Call or WhatsApp +91 70755 23360. For urgent oncology cases, WhatsApp is usually the fastest route to a same-day response.

2

Share relevant reports

Send imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT), biopsy reports, and any prior surgical notes via WhatsApp or have the patient bring them to the appointment.

3

Patient is booked promptly

Urgent oncology and trauma cases are typically seen within 24–48 hours. Elective cases within the week. The patient will receive a confirmation of their appointment time.

4

Feedback to referring doctor

After the consultation, a clinical summary is shared with the referring doctor. For ongoing cases, updates are provided at key decision points.

Response Times

Urgent oncology / trauma 24–48 hrs
Elective referrals Within the week
Informal opinion (WhatsApp) Same day
Post-consultation summary Within 48 hrs

Response times are targets, not guarantees. For time-critical cases, a direct phone call is always the most reliable approach.

Referral Documents

What to send with the referral

The more information provided upfront, the more useful the consultation will be. For oncology cases in particular, having imaging and histology before the appointment allows for a fully informed discussion with the patient on the first visit.

Where reports are not yet available, the patient can be seen and the appropriate investigations arranged from the clinic.

Imaging, plain X-rays
Weight-bearing views where relevant; both sides for comparison if useful
Cross-sectional imaging, MRI or CT
Essential for oncology and complex trauma cases; CD or digital link preferred
Histopathology reports
Biopsy results, including receptor status where available for metastatic cases
Prior surgical records
Operative notes and implant details for revision and reconstruction cases
Referral letter or clinical summary
A brief note on the presenting complaint, relevant history, and what you are seeking
